Warm for Winter

Can you imagine spending a day in winter without heat in your home, or pillows and blankets to make you comfortable?

Donate your vehicle to Charity Cars for Kids, and we will work to ensure that many needy families don’t have to. Our Warm 4 Winter program, funded by your car and contributions, provides new blankets and pillows to help those less fortunate to stay warm and cozy.

Chelsea and Brian couldn’t focus at school. Their teachers were concerned as they were both very bright children. Chelsea’s teacher noticed that she was falling asleep in class. After much probing, Chelsea revealed that her family didn’t have any money. Every night, Chelsea, Brian, their parents and two toddlers snuggled up to each other just trying to keep warm. No one got much sleep. Her teacher was a volunteer with Charity Cars for Kids, and alerted us. We were able to provide them with more blankets.

Winter can be especially difficult for low-income families. Turning up the heat is not an option as many times they face the tough decision of whether to use already-stretched resources for rent, food or energy bills. In addition, there are homeless families for whom there is no heat.  When life is hard, sleep is a gift and a warm blanket and new pillow make all the difference….

No one should have to shiver through a winter night!

Our goal for 2010 is 1000 new blankets and pillows to be distributed to the local families who need them the most.
